The Painted Bird provides gift ideas from its two bricks and mortar shops based in Fore Street, St Ives and High Street, Penzance as well as from its existing website which uses the EKM e-commerce hosted platform. The Painted Bird’s gifts include clothing items, household goods and jewellery items, products include Kusan hats and gloves, rainbow crockery sets and St Justin Silver.
The existing website is quite dated and lacks the full potential that the EKM e-commerce platform provides, so Celtic Web Design has been tasked with providing a complete update to the site, including:
Improve the general look and branding of the website design.
Analyse keywords and make enhancements to the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) of the site, including Meta Keywords and Meta Description and improve page titles and header tags.
Adjust and improve the site architecture to allow increased movement through the site by the implementation of a new navigation system highlighting all product categories.
The current Painted Bird website does provide e-commerce facilities allowing product purchase online, but the site has a low level of stickiness and does not easily inform the customer of other products available once the customer arrives at the site or has selected a product to view.
